On Conflict and Consensus is an invaluable resource for organizations that wish to set up a decision making model that values the voices of all involved in the organization.  Being dedicated to non-hierarchical organizing models, we are staunch advocates of consensus decision making and have incorporated it into our organizational documents.  You can also check out the book's official website for many more resources on consensus decision making (and instructions on how to order hard copies).

This free booklet comes from the Best Friends Sanctuary and, as their site says, is a must read for those considering opening an animal sanctuary.  Being DIYsters, we are firm believers that you don't have to inherit a lot of money to start a sanctuary.  It just takes a lot of studying, hard work, dedication, persistance, and passion.

The RYSE Toolkit [PDF]
This zine from the youth branch of the Rainforest Action Network contains some great tips on grassroots organizing.  While the zine focuses on environmental campaigns and corporate accountability, you could easily translate it into whatever grassroots campaign you happen to be working on in your community.
